Scaling of teeth, also known as oral prophylaxis, is a common dental procedure carried out in our hospital. It is aimed at removing plaque, calculus and stains from the teeth.

Gingivitis, the earliest stage of gum disease, is characterized by inflammation of the gum tissue due to bacterial buildup. Without intervention, gingivitis can progress to periodontitis, a more severe form of gum disease that may result in gum recession, bone loss, and tooth loss. Hence, scaling is necessary to prevent gum disease and to maintain overall oral health of an individual.

 At Kamala Dental, we use Ultrasonic scalers for performing supra and subgingival scaling. We advise you to get your teeth cleaned once in every 6 months to maintain good oral hygiene.
