Wide and short implants used in extraction sockets, if it is with knife edge design and progressive thread pattern offering higher primary stability, can be considered for routine placement of dental implants in upper molar sockets with reduced bone height due to pneumatisation of sinus. Leaving the implant sub-crestally and giving adequate height for the soft tissues to give good emergence profile and adequate prosthetic space, are the advantages of using short implants. They are not short – they are concentrated awesome creation meant to give predictable results in unpredictable situations.
